IPL 2025 Schedule: Full Fixtures, Venues, Match Dates & Teams

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is all set to bring another season of high-energy T20 cricket, featuring 10 teams, 74 matches, and 13 venues across India. The tournament is scheduled to take place from March 22 to May 25, 2025.

The opening match will see defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Notably, Eden Gardens will also host the grand final on May 25, marking its third time as an IPL final venue.

This season will feature 13 double-header days, with matches starting at 3:30 PM IST (afternoon) and 7:30 PM IST (evening).

IPL 2025 Groups and Format

The 10 IPL teams are divided into two groups. Each team will play 14 league matches, facing opponents within their group twice and most teams from the other group once. However, each team will have one designated cross-group opponent whom they will face twice.

Group A:

  2. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)
  3. Rajasthan Royals (RR)
  4. Punjab Kings (PBKS)
  5. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Group B:
  1. Mumbai Indians (MI)
  2. Gujarat Titans (GT)
  3. Delhi Capitals (DC)
  4. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
  5. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

At the end of the league stage, the top four teams will qualify for the playoffs:

  • Qualifier 1 (May 20, Hyderabad): Top two teams will compete, with the winner going straight to the final.
  • Eliminator (May 21, Hyderabad): The third and fourth-placed teams will face off.
  • Qualifier 2 (May 23, Kolkata): The loser of Qualifier 1 will play the winner of the Eliminator to decide the second finalist.
  • Final (May 25, Kolkata): The winner of Qualifier 1 vs the winner of Qualifier 2 will battle for the trophy.
